Sorry It Has Been Awhile

I am just tired after working all day and then taking care of my family all evening......that is why I have not posted in awhile. Please forgive me.

We had a great time in Thibodaux. Emma's party went really well. The only problem was that I forgot my camera. I was so mad at myself! I did take pictures with Ann's camera, though. She has uploaded them to Shutterfly FINALLY so I will share some later. The party was a pretend slumber party. They wore their pajamas and we ate pizza and cake, watched a movie (for a brief moment), rolled their hair, painted their nails and did their make up. Too cute!! The best part of the night was when they all danced to Hannah Montana. Not too much rhythm, but they sure were cute!
On Tuesday, I went with Audrey's class to the pumpkin patch. It was a beautiful morning, but a little bit cold. The kids had a great time. They did storytime and had cookies and punch and then they eached picked out a pumpkin. When I picked her up at school today, I got to see their pumpkins all decorated. Sooo cute. I will post pictures when she brings it home Friday.

LIFE AS USUAL

Tonight we went to the fall carnival at work. The girls had fun, but it was a bit nippy! But, felt like fall and that was nice!! I didn't take the camera so I didn't get any pictures. So I took some in their pajamas before bedtime.
Abby is so precious. I love her pajamas with the feet.....she does, too. I wish they came in my size. She is just an angel.
Audrey is just plain silly. She loves to pose for the camera. She says, "Ohhh, ohhh, ohhh take my picture, take my picture." So, I do and then she says, "Let me see, let me see, LET ME SEE!" So, I do.
The pajamas she has on are entirely too small, but she LOVES them and gets very upset if I even metion that it might be time to move on. She is just not ready to let go. Whatever!! (Audrey's favorite comeback these days. It was funny the first time, not so much anymore, unless she says it to Caleb!! HeHeHeHe).
We are headed to Thibodaux tomorrow for Emma's 5th birthday party. Where does the time go? She should still be a baby!!

TWO STORIES

Story One:
Tonight I decided to clean Abby's closet. You know, put up all the spring and summer and get out all the fall and winter. It is a task because I have tubs and tubs of clothes that belonged to Audrey and Emma that are being passed down to Abby (Camille, if y'all have a girl, you are in luck...so many precious girl clothes that I would LOVE to pass down to you). Abby only has on a diaper because I am trying things on her as I go. I get to a point where I am through trying things on her. I suddenly realize she is so quiet (not good), I look over and she has found the Little Swimmers from this summer (Aunt Lora, they are diapers for swimming). She has them up and down each leg. Caleb, Audrey and I cracked up!! This kept her entertained for about 30 minutes.

The first picture is her putting them on and the second picture is her attempting to walk with them. She would get soooo frustrated when she would walk and they would slide down her legs.

Story Two:
Tonight Audrey sat beside me on the couch as I read the Ruston Daily Loser, oh, I mean Leader. On the back page was an advertisment that featured pictures of money. The following is the exact conversation that took place.
Audrey: "Momma, look at all that cash."
Me: "How do you know about cash?"
Audrey: "I hear you and Daddy talk about it ALL THE TIME when you AREN"T talking to me. You know, you always tell Daddy you don't have any when he asks if he can have some."

FUNNY GILRS

Audrey and Abby crack me up!! After an afternoon in Monroe with LiLi, Audrey and I come home to find Abby very anxious to see us both! She gets sooo excited to see people she loves. It is very precious. Soon, the girls found a new place to hang out......the laudry baskets. Yes, the clothes are dirty, but I guess it could be worse. It was the end of the day and they were about the have their bath.

Little and Big "A" in the laundry
As mentioned above, Audrey and I went to Monroe this afternoon. We left Abby with daddy because she was asleep. When we came home, she looked funny!! After awaking from her nap, she insisted on putting more clothes on top of the clothes she was already wearing. This is one of her favorite things to do, the only thing that matters to her is that the over layers must belong to Audrey. Below you will see her with Audrey's mermaid t-shirt over her outfit. According to Caleb, before we came home, she also had on a pair of Audrey's pajama pants. In the pictures below, she is going her "jig" that she does when she is excited. Thankfully, I was able to get the front and rear views.

PARTY TIME!

Tonight was Poppa and Honey's Annual Halloween Party. The party is actually for Honey's niece, Hannah, but the Seney's have been attending since Audrey was a baby. Honey LOVES Halloween and goes ALL OUT!!!

We just consider it an extra time for the girl's to wear their costumes. I reminded Audrey this morning about the party and she said, "I am not going to be Snow White tonight, I am waiting until the REAL Halloween." Okay, I thought, you'll change your mind later. Several times during the day she also said, "Abby's is going to be a pumpkin, RIGHT?" Sure, whatever, I thought to myself.

The time to get dressed was nearing and I showed Audrey the outfit (again) that Abby was wearing. She said, "that's okay because I am going to be Cinderella." I reminded her that she did not have a Cinderella costume so she said she would just wear an old dance recital costume and tell people that she was Cinderella. Right at that moment, Caleb decided he needed to run to the store and would be right back. What do you think he came home with? That is right, a Cinderella dress complete with the crown. Anything for his girl!!

Audrey, irritated that I interrupted her time with the "big girls"

They actually do love each other!!

POOR AUDREY/FUNNY ABBY

Audrey decided a long time ago that she wanted to be Snow White for Halloween. She has had the dress for awhile and has even worn it to school. She is so excited about Poppa and Honey's party and trick-or-treating.

Abby, on the other hand, has no clue. Because of this, I have not really considered a Halloween outfit for her. We already have a pumpkin outfit that Audrey wore, so we just thought Abby could wear it, too.

Earlier this evening, Audrey and I decided to try the outfit on Abby. Abby wanted no part of it and cried to get it off. I then remembered a fairy-type dress/costume that Honey had bought Audrey years ago. I thought, let's try that. Audrey thought it was great, too, until she saw the outfit. She does not remember it, but when she saw it, she burst into tears because it is not her size. I explained to her that it is for a baby, not a big girl, but she did not want to hear it. She was/is MAD!

Audrey went to her room screaming and crying, so I went ahead and put the outfit on Abby. She immediately went into my closet to find some shoes. This is how she came out.
Nice black heels, Abby!
And the rear view

And Audrey's sad/mad face
Even after I took the outfit off of Abby, she still felt the need for the heels. She is a girly-girl!

I HAVE BECOME MY FATHER (It is so disturbing to just type those words)

A childhood memory I (and I am sure my brother and sister) will never forget is my dad taking pictures. Easter Sunday is the time I remember most. The sessions always started out beautifully. Three precious children dressed in their Sunday best and a proud father with a 35 mm camera in hand (and a polaroid). By the time it was over, all three kids were crying and dad was ready to disown us.

Today at church, I had more than one person tell me that I needed to take the girl's picture because they looked so cute in their matching dresses. I did just that. As soon as we were home from church, the photo shoot began.

Audrey was the only willing participant. Abby wanted none of it and would only stop crying and screaming if she was in her red car, so most of the pictures are with her in the car.

We relived history today. By the time we were done, both kids were crying and I was mad (and sweating in the humidity).

I can remember telling myself, "I will never do the things to my kids that my parents did to me." Guess I spoke too soon.

Enjoy the pictures!

Pumpkin Patch

Today Caleb and I took the girls to the pumpkin patch at the Townsend House. It was fun! Audrey loved looking at all the pumpkins and really spent a lot of time looking at all of them. Initially, she wanted to take a lot of them home with us. We explained to her that we were purchasing two.....one for her and one for Abby. She was okay with that as long as she was able to pick out both. It did not bother Abby one bit! She wasn't really into the pumpkins, but she did love being able to run around outside. After some time, Abby started to like the pumpkins, but only because she thought they were balls. (Abby LOVES balls and it forever stealing Audrey's Strawberry Shortcake ball out of her room). She eventually became frustrated because she was not able to pick the "balls" (pumpkins) up.

Audrey had an easy time picking out Abby's pumpkin. She decided Abby needed a baby pumpkin because Abby is a baby (sounds reasonable to me). It took a little bit longer for her to pick out the one she wanted for herself. She finally decided on one with bumps on it (I am sure there is a technical name for the bumps, but I don't know it). She told us she liked it because it has the chicken pox and she wanted to bring it home and take care of it because it is sick. So sweet!! (She has been telling us for the last two years that she wants to be a doctor!).

On the ride home, Audrey asked us what she needed to do to take care of the pumpkin. I told her she didn't have to do anything. All we have to do is enjoy it. She wasn't quite satisfied with that answer so she said, "I think all we have to do to take care of it is to love it." Such a precious little girl!

FOR CAMILLE

Camille is having a baby!! Well, she already has one, sorta. He goes by the name Powers. No, I have not ever met Powers, but I feel like I know him.....he is VERY popular on the world wide web. We have all heard stories about him and have seen many pictures of him. I think Adam and Camille may be a little concerned about how he will adjust to the new (human) baby that will be here before we know it.

Caleb and I had the same concerns before Audrey was born. Grover was our baby. He was born September 1, 2003 and he came to live with us near the end of October. When he was a puppy I carried him on my hip like a baby (I know, kinda weird)! He lived inside and slept in our bed (sorry if that freaks some of you out). Audrey was born the following July. I was so worried about Grover. When we brought Audrey home, we put her carrier on the floor and allowed Grover to sniff and lick her. He would even look at her sleeping in her crib (sorry, I can't find the disk the picture is on). He was never aggressive towards her. As she got older and could sit and eat in her high chair, we would catch her sharing her food with Grover.

Grover is still with us, but he lives outside now. Don't worry, he is fine and loves his huge back yard. His sleeping area is heated in the winter and cooled in the summer....he has it made. Even though he isn't inside anymore, Audrey still refers to him as her brother.

The below picture is Grover with Emma when she was about 9 months old. It is one of the most precious pictures ever! Emma still likes Grover, but from a distance and through a glass door!

What's Been Going On?

Not a lot has been going on at the Seney house. Audrey loves school and she loves ballet and tap. She does not talk tooo much about school, but according to the teachers, she is doing great. We think she just considers school "her" time because when we ask her about it she says things like, "Well, it's good, but that is all I really have to say." Or she says one of her favorite lines, "It's private business, Mom, sorry."

She also does not say much about dance, but we know she loves it because she practices her "dance moves" A LOT and she takes it very seriously!!

Abby is really growing up! She does not burst into tears anymore when someone looks at her and she has not cried at all the past two weeks at church. Such improvement....we are so thankful! She has even taken to "flirting" with men and boys. They seem to be her favorite!

The following picture is Abby with Audrey's pajama bottoms on top of her pajamas and Audrey's rain boots. She created this outfit all by herself! If you look carefully, you can see Audrey (Snow White) in the background.

Saturday night LiLi and Uncle Drew came over to visit and go eat dinner. Andrew was in town so he and Caleb could continue to prepare some land in Bernice for deer season (whatever!!). He didn't bring Ashley and Madeline, but we forgave him (this time).

As usual, Audrey being silly

Abby would not leave Uncle Drew alone! They played slide on the "relax the back" chair for about an hour!

SORRY

Sorry that I have not posted anything lately (I KNOW people anxiously await the latest edition of The Seney Say). I just ahve not taken the time to sit down at the computer to write.

Not much is going on here. I just tried to upload some recent pics, but the batteries in the camera are dead and I am too lazy and tired to change them. Maybe by tomorrow I will have a nice post with nice pictures. Don't give up on me!!! I will be back.

Happy news.....my sweet cousin Camille is having a baby!!! So exciting! Oh, I guess all of you already know since all my readers are also my family.

Check back with me tomorrow. Goodnight.
