Abby Goes to Kindergarten...

Today was Abby's turn.  I cannot believe our baby is in kindergarten.  She was a little nervous, but had a great day!  I think she just may be the most precious thing on earth....Such a cute little bullpup!

Here is a look back at her first day of PreK 3 and 4....
Her first day at WMS (3 years)
Her first day at WMS (4 years)

Can't believe how much she has grown up!!

Third Grade

Really??  3rd grade??  Where has the time gone?  Where has my baby gone?  So hard to believe!  I looked back at her other "first day of school" pics and got a little sad.....
My sweet little kindergartener
My precious 1st grader
My broken-armed 2nd grader
My big 3rd grader

I am pretty sure I am going to lose it when Abby starts Kindergarten at the end of the month.....

Birthday Girl

I am having a hard time believing that our Abigail is five.  It really seems like just yesterday when she was born.  She is so precious!!  She makes us laugh all the time.  She reminds me of her daddy.  She's sweet, cute, funny and so lovable.  She also loves to hug and kiss.  We are blessed beyond measure.

Let's take a look at Abby through the years...........

Sweet baby around 2 months
At her 1st birthday
Abby at 2.  She was sick and we had to cancel her party.
Sweet little 3 year old
At her 4th birthday
And here she is today.  Her 5th birthday.  We had this blanket made for her because she loves her "cold' blankets (you know, soft on one side and silky on the other).  She calls them cold blankets because she likes to put them in the freezer so the silky side gets cold.  This blanket is huge and Caleb joked that we will need a deep freezer for her to get it cold!

WE LOVE YOU SWEET GIRL!!!!!!

The Weekend

Friday Caleb had the time of his life!  He was able to meet Ron Paul.  Those of you that know my husband know that he LOVES Dr. Paul.  You also know that he is pretty much one of the funniest people ever.......
Apparently Ron thinks so, too.....

On Saturday, Abby was so sweet to make her own bed.  She didn't just make it up, she put pretty much every stuffed animal she owns on it....

We went to Bossier that afternoon to cousin Megan's birthday party.  It was at a skating rink.  Neither of our girls have ever skated.  Audrey was willing to try and did okay.  Abby wanted no part of it.
Sweet Audrey

Saturday night the girls were so sweet.  Audrey read to Abby for at least 30 minutes.

Sunday LiLi and the James' came over.  Audrey loves her cousin Julia.  I'm pretty sure I have mentioned that one or fifty times!
Abby and Madeline enjoyed swinging together.

The weekend was nice.  Not really ready to start a new week......Hope it's a good one!!

Dinner and a Movie

Last night we went to Dinner and a Movie at Lincoln Parish Park.  Good job, JA ladies!  We had a great time.  We met Sally, Jack Henry and Mary Hope and we ran into and sat by Ashley, Madeline, Julia and Nonnie.

Jack Henry and Audrey.  They are really 2 peas in a pod!!

Abby cheesing it up!!

We are headed to Bossier to cousin Megan's 8th birthday party today.  Tomorrow LiLi is coming to visit.  Fun and busy weekend!!

The difference in our girls......

We are having a crawfish boil at our house tomorrow.  We rented a jumpy for all the kids.  Abby asked Caleb to go ahead and put it up.  So, he did.  I went to Super One and this is what I saw when I got home:
Abby jumping and.......
Audrey hanging out on the ice chest reading.

Gotta love them both!!!

What's Going On.....

Well, it has been 12 days since I have had a Coke Zero, coffee, fried food and all those other things I was told to stop for a week.  Wow!  I feel good!  I did an entire week and a half with all the restrictions, but the last couple of days I have given into the Thin Mints and Tagalongs......dang those are good!!  AND, my pain is gone!  I guess it is possible that the doctor was right and maybe it was just heartburn??  I have decided I am going to try to keep up the no carbonated drinks and no coffee.  Don't be mistaken, though, I still have some caffeine.  I drink an Advocare Spark in the mornings when I wake up to exercise.  That's the only caffeine I have.  I am impressed with myself!!

We have had a good weekend.  Friday night the girls spent the night with Aunt Ashley, Uncle Drew, Madeline and Julia.  Before they left, Abby wanted to put on an outfit that she picked out.  She cracks me up!!  She is so opposite of me and just like her Daddy.  She's precious!
Today the girls played outside all day while Caleb worked in the yard.  I did a little bit of housework, but not much because it really isn't my favorite thing to do!! Late this afternoon we took the girls to see "The Lorax."  Very cute movie; we all enjoyed.
They love to wear swim suit tops with shorts.  Not really sure I get it, but those are our girls!!  Not sure about Abby's pose??  Love love these sweet girls!!

This and That

First of all, thank all of you for your sweet words of encouragement!!!  It really meant a lot to me!!  As I said in my last post, we were hoping to have a great weekend and we did!!  On Saturday, we went to Bossier to Caleb's sister's house.  The girls love to play with their cousins, Megan and Jackson.  Caleb's mom was also in town from Texas.  We had a great time!!

On Sunday, Caleb and the girls were in the backyard playing and Audrey asked Caleb about some play dough toy she saw in the storage building.  The truth is, Caleb's sister, Jennifer (the Bossier one) gave it to Audrey for her 2nd birthday and we never gave it to her......SO SORRY JENNY!!!  Play Do is so messy!!  Well, Audrey is almost 8 so we figured it was time.  Caleb set up the activity table and the girls had the best time....again, SO SORRY JENNY!!  Better late than never, right??

So, to add to our medical woes, I began having pain in my upper abdominal Saturday while we were in Bossier.  It sort of felt like heartburn and was radiating to my back.  Caleb's mom gave me a magnesium supplement.  It helped some.  I had eaten a lot that day.  Spicy chips and a rich chocolate and peanut butter dessert.  Maybe this was causing it??  By the time we got back to Ruston, the pain was really bad!!  We stopped at Walgreens and I got some zantac.  It didn't help.  While we were in Bossier, Caleb's sister (who happens to be an RN), mentioned something about gallbladder.  So, being the freak that I am, I began researching my symptoms online.  I know it's never a good idea, but I couldn't help myself!!  So, I convinced myself that I had some serious problem.  So much so that I drove myself to the ER!!  Caleb asked if I wanted him to come, but calling a sitter seemed silly (as if me going to the ER wasn't silly!!).  The ER was crowded.  I looked around and there was a pitiful teenage boy practically laying on the floor in tears from some sort of pain.  There was a college-aged guy who had had a motorcycle accident that was disoriented.  Ummmm....I was realizing that maybe I didn't really need to be there; you know taking time and attention from the REAL sick people!!  So, I left.  I went to the doctor today and I am pretty sure I am not dying!  Yea!!  Instead, he felt it was best to rule out indigestion, so he gave me some some prescription antacid and told me to follow the indigestion diet for a week and if it isn't better to come back.  Y'all, I am freaking out about the diet!!  These are the no-no's:  fried food, acidic food, coffee, chocolate, caffeine and peppermint!!  WHA???!!  Those are my food groups!  Well, not really, but I LOVE Coke Zero and I LOVE coffee with my peppermint mocha creamer...I am so sad!!!  I am determined to do it though, because the pain was/is BAD!!  And to top it all off, I also have a sinus infection.  Am I 37 or 85???  Hard to tell these days!!  :)  I will be sure and let y'all know how the horrific caffeine and coffee free week goes.  Caleb told me that he has heard that once you are over the hump of the withdrawal symptoms that I will feel great and not want to go back to the evil ways of before.  Of course, he told me this as he sipped his Coke Zero and ate his chocolate dessert!!!!  :)

When it rains; it pours....

Do you ever feel like that?  I feel like it has been pouring on the Seney family lately!!  When I really think about it, it's not so bad.  We have a wonderful life - healthy children - friends - a wonderful small group from church....but, sometimes life feels overwhelming!!

Our sweet dog Grover is getting better, but he did have a little set back at the beginning of the week.  I promise we love our dog, he's our first-born and only son :), but wow, those vet bills can be pretty steep!!  I think we have spent more money on him than our human children!

Both girls were sick last week.  Abby woke up with fever on Wednesday.  By Friday she wasn't any better.  We went to the doctor.  The pediatrician looked in her ear and said something to the effect that Abby had one of the worst ear infections she had seen in some time.  She asked Abby if it hurt and Abby said NO!  The child has a very high threshold for pain....she didn't get that from her momma!!  So, she's been on antibiotics and is better.  We go back next week for a re-check of the ear.  On Monday, the poor child went to bed at 4:30 and did not wake up until almost 7 the next morning.  Well, I take that back.  She woke up some time during the night because I put her in her bed in clothes and the next morning she had on pajamas!!  That girl loves her pajamas.  That, she does get from her momma.

The same day Abby got sick, so did Audrey.  She woke up with a pain in her side.  Audrey is a wee bit dramatic, so Caleb and I didn't really think much of it.  She continued to complain of pain and then she began to vomit.  We thought she might have a stomach bug, but with side pain was worrying us.  The poor thing was laying on the floor writhing in pain.  It turns out the child has a kidney stone!!  Ummm. aren't old men supposed to get kidney stones??!!  After they tested her urine (had blood in it), they did an x-ray.  While at the clinic, her pain stopped.  Dr. Slusher explained that the pain can come and go.  We strained her urine for 2 days (fun!!), but she didn't pass it.  We were sent home with Tylenol 3 in case she has another "attack" again.

So, that's why I was feeling a little stressed.  By Friday, Caleb and I were just worn out!!  I must add, he took both girls to their doctors appointments.  He went to Green Clinic 3 days in a row (Audrey had to go back Thursday).  He and I split the time at home with them on Wednesday and Thursday.  He stayed home all day Friday so I could work.  Friday afternoon at work I heard somethings that bothered me and hurt my feelings.  Don't ya just love gossip and rumors??  Let's just say it was not pretty!!  I am not a crier.  My mom is, but I'm not.  I just burst into tears at my desk.  I could not stop!!  I had a horrible afternoon.  I even let my hurt and anger take over my weekend.  Finally, by Sunday, I was not as angry.  By work Monday, I was a lot better.  I think it is all okay now.  I think I was just stressed!!!  I made a conscious decision to not allow others to have control over how I felt.  I also decided to really make an effort to do my job to the best of my ability.  That's a good feeling.  I know I have done my best this week.  I also know that my job is a little stressful in itself and can be difficult at times.

This weekend will be good!!  That's what I am telling myself!!  We will get a chance to see most of Caleb's family on Saturday and that should be fun.  The girls love playing with their cousins.  I hope you have a great weekend, too!

UPDATE

What's going on?  Well, poor Grover has been sick and had surgery and I got a new table for our foyer.  That really is it!!

Grover just came home from the vet today.  He was there since Monday.  He had severe pancreatitis (sp??) and then they discovered that where his small and large intestines meet was bunched and twisted up (like those medical terms??).  He had surgery Tuesday evening and came home today with a satellite so that he won't bother his stitches.........
  POOR GROVER!!!!!!

And, here is my new table.  I love it!  We are slowly working on each room of the house.

I also got a new rug, but I didn't take a picture of it.

Hope to have a nice and relaxing weekend......same to you!!!

The James Sweat Glands

It is a true affliction......it has gotten worse as I have gotten older.  The James sweat glands (we like to blame dad and his people) affect me and brother Andrew.  Sister Ann says she has the problem, too, but I am not sure she has a full blown case (sorry Ann, just speaking truth).

Let me say, I do not mind sweating WHEN I AM SUPPOSED to be sweating.  I love the way I feel when I get off the treadmill drenched.  I DO mind sweating when I am dolled up for work or some other occasion where I (attempt) to style my hair and apply my make up.  I am a girly girl and love every bit that comes along with that.  BUT, there are times the sweat starts and it is horrible!!

I sweat in the summer (duh) and I sweat in the winter.  I cannot stand the heater (at work I sometimes feel like I am going to suffocate) and I think coats/jackers are very overrated.

I think it is time to admit that I am guilty of sticking my head in the freezer when I am attempting to get ready and the sweat takes over.  Caleb came home from Andrew's last week so excited to show me a picture he had taken with his phone.  He said, "you have GOT to see this.  Madeline is SUCH a James."  This is what he showed me......

I know exactly how she feels!!!  Ashley told Caleb when Madeline gets hot, she sits in the refrigerator.  Caleb got to their house right after Madeline and Ashley had returned from walking from her parent's house (they live down the street).  Ashley comfirmed that Madeline does indeed have the James sweat glands.....Bless her sweet sweaty heart!!!

Better Late than Never....

So, I am finally getting around to posting about Christmas.  It may be a little obnoxious the amount of pictures I am going to post, but here goes.....

Audrey's school Christmas party:
Audrey and Emily (with Jack Henry in the background)
Audrey and me
Elizabeth, Audrey and Sophia

Christmas Eve:

Audrey
Abby
Ganny (Caleb's mom) and the girls

For some reason, we did not take a lot of pictures Christmas day.  We spent the morning at home and then went to Bossier to Caleb's sister's house, but I didn't bring the camera.

With their i-pods that Santa brought (I know a little excessive for a 4 year old, but Santa saw fit, so what ya gonna do???  ;)

We spent a few days with the Miller's last week.  We always have fun with cousins...

Sweet cousins (Abby, Audrey, Emma and Jack)

Cousin Julia had her 1st birthday party Saturday morning.  Such a sweet baby girl.  I didn't have my camera for that either.....I need to get better about bringing my camera places.

Tomorrow we have to go back to the real world.  I am excited to get back into a routine, but tomorrow morning is going to be rough...I just know it!!!
