When it rains; it pours....

Do you ever feel like that?  I feel like it has been pouring on the Seney family lately!!  When I really think about it, it's not so bad.  We have a wonderful life - healthy children - friends - a wonderful small group from church....but, sometimes life feels overwhelming!!

Our sweet dog Grover is getting better, but he did have a little set back at the beginning of the week.  I promise we love our dog, he's our first-born and only son :), but wow, those vet bills can be pretty steep!!  I think we have spent more money on him than our human children!

Both girls were sick last week.  Abby woke up with fever on Wednesday.  By Friday she wasn't any better.  We went to the doctor.  The pediatrician looked in her ear and said something to the effect that Abby had one of the worst ear infections she had seen in some time.  She asked Abby if it hurt and Abby said NO!  The child has a very high threshold for pain....she didn't get that from her momma!!  So, she's been on antibiotics and is better.  We go back next week for a re-check of the ear.  On Monday, the poor child went to bed at 4:30 and did not wake up until almost 7 the next morning.  Well, I take that back.  She woke up some time during the night because I put her in her bed in clothes and the next morning she had on pajamas!!  That girl loves her pajamas.  That, she does get from her momma.

The same day Abby got sick, so did Audrey.  She woke up with a pain in her side.  Audrey is a wee bit dramatic, so Caleb and I didn't really think much of it.  She continued to complain of pain and then she began to vomit.  We thought she might have a stomach bug, but with side pain was worrying us.  The poor thing was laying on the floor writhing in pain.  It turns out the child has a kidney stone!!  Ummm. aren't old men supposed to get kidney stones??!!  After they tested her urine (had blood in it), they did an x-ray.  While at the clinic, her pain stopped.  Dr. Slusher explained that the pain can come and go.  We strained her urine for 2 days (fun!!), but she didn't pass it.  We were sent home with Tylenol 3 in case she has another "attack" again.

So, that's why I was feeling a little stressed.  By Friday, Caleb and I were just worn out!!  I must add, he took both girls to their doctors appointments.  He went to Green Clinic 3 days in a row (Audrey had to go back Thursday).  He and I split the time at home with them on Wednesday and Thursday.  He stayed home all day Friday so I could work.  Friday afternoon at work I heard somethings that bothered me and hurt my feelings.  Don't ya just love gossip and rumors??  Let's just say it was not pretty!!  I am not a crier.  My mom is, but I'm not.  I just burst into tears at my desk.  I could not stop!!  I had a horrible afternoon.  I even let my hurt and anger take over my weekend.  Finally, by Sunday, I was not as angry.  By work Monday, I was a lot better.  I think it is all okay now.  I think I was just stressed!!!  I made a conscious decision to not allow others to have control over how I felt.  I also decided to really make an effort to do my job to the best of my ability.  That's a good feeling.  I know I have done my best this week.  I also know that my job is a little stressful in itself and can be difficult at times.

This weekend will be good!!  That's what I am telling myself!!  We will get a chance to see most of Caleb's family on Saturday and that should be fun.  The girls love playing with their cousins.  I hope you have a great weekend, too!

It's TOUGH when you are not a crier! When the dam finally bursts--it's a FLOOD. I totally understand! Remember that RUDE comments are made by people with inferior feelings about themselves.

You DID have a rough week! You made it through it! You are doing a wonderful job! So put that behind you and march forward KNOWING we all think you are perfect! LOVE YOU!
