Poor Little Abs

How sad is that??????

Well, sweet little Abby has a broken her arm. Bless her sweet heart. It happened Sunday night. Caleb was playing with her and threw her on the bed (like he always does) and she just landed the wrong way.

We all four just sort of freaked out. Abby wanted both of us to go to the ER with her, so we all four went. NLMC ER was great. They were so sweet to all of us and took care of Abby immediately. And, they both got Popsicles when it was time to go home.

Abby has a green stick fracture. It is the bone above her right elbow. It is partially broken. We see the orthopedic Wednesday to get her cast. I've been told that you can swim with casts these days. Hope that is true!! We are headed to the beach Thursday.

We had to cut her pajama arm sleeve to get the splint on. She was okay with that since she had on her Christmas pajamas from last year. She said "I will get some more next Christmas." Sweet baby.

She has had the best attitude. Laughing and making jokes about her broken arm!!

She loves showing people "her bones." She said today that her x-ray looks like a slide!

Look what sweet Aunt Mary sent Abby today. She was sooooo excited! Thank you, Aunt Mary!

I will post pictures of her cast later in the week.

Peach Festival

The Peach Festival was the weekend. The only part we participated in was the parade. It is just way too hot!! I do not like to be hot and sweaty unless I am supposed to be hot and sweaty, ya know? I love to sweat when I work out because I feel like I am doing something. Other than that, I DO NOT LIKE TO BE HOT!! Poor Audrey is the same way. She gets ANGRY when she gets hot. Poor baby inherited the James Sweat Glands. Just talk to Andrew or Ann if you have questions about the JSG.

The girls enjoyed watching the parade. I think Abby had more fun. Audrey would take little breaks and go sit in the chair provided by Uncle Drew. As mentioned above, it was the HEAT that had Big A taking breaks. I love this picture above. They are both smiling and having fun. They are waving at a life size Scooby Doo strapped on the back of one of a Shriner on a motorcycle. They liked the motorcycles more than the Shriners in the little cars.....i have always been a little disturbed by that, maybe my girls are, too??

Seeing this preciousness made it worth hanging out in the heat. We heart baby Julia!!

AND, the REAL reason we attended the parade was to see Cousin Madeline!! By far the most beautiful little girl in the parade and she gave the best candy. Thanks for the ring pops. A perfect candy choice given from a princess!!

Abby's 4 year check up (just a few months late....)

Here is sweet Abby walking into see Dr. Slusher today. We finally had a 4 year check up, which included shots. My sweet girl did awesome!! Not one tear was shed! So proud of her!! She weighed in at a whopping 32 pounds and is 41 inches. Dr. Slusher said she could stand to gain a few pounds, but she is not at all worried. The child has a great appetite and eats fruits, veggies and basically anything you put in front of her (unlike her sister, but that's another story). She is also ALWAYS moving, playing, dancing, and ALWAYS talking. I sometimes wonder if she will ever STOP talking! She is just such a sweetheart (and funny). Today she told me she either wanted to be a belly dancer or a hula girl when she grows up. She followed that up with "maybe I can just be both."

Father's Day/Birthdays

Caleb and his girls

We had a good weekend. We spent time at the pool, time at home and time with family! Audrey and Abby went to the Princess Peach Pageant with their LiLi to cheer on cousin, Madeline. They had a great time!

Sunday I volunteered to help out with the 3 year-olds at church. Normally, Caleb and I are in the 5th and 6th grade class, but are taking a break this summer. Wow! By the time church was over, I needed a nap!! I applaud the people that can do that every week. Twelve 3 year-olds wore me out!!!

Caleb had to work for a while on Sunday (a new camp started). Late afternoon, we went to Dad and Laurie's house for a little Father's Day/Birthday celebration. Yesterday was my dad's birthday and also in the month of June his brother, Noel and their cousin, Faye celebrate birthdays. So, we had cake and ice cream to celebrate.Audrey and Abby with their Poppa

Audrey and Abby with Honey

Going out to Poppa and Honey's house is such an adventure for the girls. Their house is almost like a museum with all their art work!!! They have lots of stuff that the girls can look at, but not necessarily touch!! Also, they are so impressed with the bathtubs. They sink down. Growing up in this house, I never really thought about the tubs being different. Now that I am a parent, all I can think about is how hard it would be to bathe children in those tubs!! I guess your perspective changes over time!

Playing in the tub

Although the house is similar to a museum, Poppa and Honey ALWAYS have toys and books on hand for the kids to play with. They really do love going out to their Poppa and Honey's house.

See, it's like arts and crafts time!! (cousin Elisha is joining in on the fun; sorry, Dad, guess I caught you off guard! :)

Siblings (Uncle Noel, Aunt Carol and Dad)

Caleb and I ended the day by going to see "Super 8." Caleb described it as a cross between Goonies and ET. It was a pretty good movie. Caleb chose the movie because it was his day. I wasn't sure I would like it, but I did!! We had a good time together.

Have a great week!!

Audrey's Dance Recital

Well, the dance recital has come and gone! Y'all, it is a BIG deal! A week of rehearsals and dress rehearsal leading up to the big event. I am so thankful for Melanie, Audrey's friend's mom. She helps us out soooo much with so many things. Mainly transporting Audrey to and fro. It's hard for a working momma, but she makes it so much easier. She was awesome to take Audrey to rehearsal.

Audrey did dance two years ago, skipped last year and did it again this year. After the recital our first year, Audrey said she didn't want to do it anymore. Well, she said the same thing this year. This time I think we are done! She just never really got into it. That's okay with us. She will take art again next school year and we may try gymnastics.

Anyway, here are some pictures:
Make up is very important (according to Missy Crain)
A very tight bun is also necessary
She does make a cute mermaid!

MEMORIAL DAY

It does not take a lot to entertain our children...

The redneck water slide is the BEST!!
